A fatuous person ascertained to be a native of E Anstruther – alleged to have been a servant for 5 or 6 years in Edinburgh and also not to have resided in E. Anstruther for a length of time sufficient to constitute a claim upon that parish – has much frequented this parish during the last 14 or 15 years – her wants have hitherto been relieved by begging in this and the neighbouring parishes – her present allowance from our poor’s funds is for lodging alone – The inspector is to consider the best way of providing for her in the future.
11/2/1846 – Inspector instructed to state the circumstances of the case to Mr Smythe the secretary of the Board of Supervision for his opinion.
26/10/1846 – Margaret Peattie’s claim to be admitted as a pauper on the poor’s fund of the Parish of Beath had been got rid of…..Inspector of Beath to apply to Inspector of Easter Anstruther for repayment of expenses.
