Inspector instructed to take steps against John Richardson the father of the child.

09/11/1860 – John Richardson residing at Bannockburn had acknowledged the paternity of the child by having it registered in his own name … to summon him before the Sheriff of Stirling for repayment of advances of the Board.

10/05/1861 – Inspector had delayed carrying out instructions of the Board owing to his (Richardson) having met with an accident which disabled him from working, but that he was now at work again.

10/11/1865 – on account of two illegitimate children became chargeable to this parish in Sept. 1864, had got relief on two occasions before that. Belongs to St Ninians…Inspector should have refused aliment….Board advised Inspector to press admission from St Ninians.

11/05/1866 - St Ninians has refused to admit liability. Board direct Inspector to get St Ninians to admit liability or try the case in court if found necessary.

11/05/1866 – Inspector to insist on admission from St Ninians and to advise with Mr McFarlane, agent for the Board.

10/08/1866 – Case has now been decidedly refused by St Ninians. Board instructed Inspector to make out a statement of the case and submit it to Mr McFarlane.

08/02/1867 – Case still not cleared up, but in respect that she was living with her brother and sister at Cowdenbeath and earning good wages, Inspector had withheld aliment for the children since 17th September. Board gave their unanimous approval.

08/08/1867 – Order from Sheriff for interim relief to be given to the youngest child.

08/11/1867 – has had another child (her third). Granted 1/6 per week.
