McAllaster or Peter, Catherine and children

From Wemyss Parochial Board.

At meeting of 8 Nov. 1861 she is described as 'deserted, her Husband being a Sailor and had been constantly at sea, claim is made in his birthplace although he had been 13 years in the Parish of Greenock'.

24 Feb. 1865 Cath McAllaster Peter to be brought to the Poorhouse.

25 Aug. 1865 residing at City Parish, Glasgow, she is 'to be brought to the Poorhouse'.

22 June 1866 there is an entry for 'Mrs Peter who left the Poorhouse on the 15 May to be removed to the Poorhouse out door relief refused'.

3 May 1869 Catherine McAllaster, Govan, wife of James Peter, sailor, who deserted her, who's settlement is supposed to be in Greenock but not yet admitted.

Meeting 26 Aug 1869 Mrs James Peters and two children in the poorhouse.

Meeting 25 Aug 1870 Catherine McAllaster or Peters and two children sent to the Poorhouse.

Meeting 5 Oct 1871 Catherine McAllaster and two children left the Poorhouse.

Meeting 3 Dec 1873 Catherine McAllaster or Peters re-admitted by the Inspector and sent to the Poorhouse.

Meeting 28 May 1874 Catherine McAllaster or Peters, Inspector reported that the above named left for the Poorhouse with her boy and girl at her own request on Monday the 18th for Glasgow.

Meeting 12 Nov 1874 Inspector reported that he had re-admitted liability and sent her to Dysart C. Poorhouse.

Meeting 30 Sep 1875 Catherine McAllaster or Peters with her girl left the Poorhouse at her own request on 30th August 1875.

Meeting 16 Dec 1875 Inspector reported he had re-admitted the above case to Dysart C. Poorhouse.

Meeting 31 Oct 1876 Catherine McAllaster or Peters removed from the roll by death on the 9th Oct, 1876, aged 47. Case of Christina Peters, aged 12, daughter, to be continued in the Poorhouse.
