Newspaper article taken from th Daily Mail dated in pencil as 9.3.96. The article by Alison Hardie examines the content of a series of letter written by Andrew Carnegie to his cousin George Lauder over a period of four years begining in 1853. The letters express his belief in the temperence movement and distaste for the 'drunkeness' of his fellow Scots along with a hatred for slavery and royalty. The letters were about to go on display in Pittsburgh for the first time at the time the article was written.
