Sir Thomas Hope was appointed to the position of Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1643, the only commoner ever to do so. This book contains a reproduction of 24 letters [1627-1646] from his private correspondence, which are preceeded by a detailed biography.
