Published extract from a museum journal examining Professor Patrick Geddes' report* to the Dunfermline Carnegie Trust regarding the development of Pittencrieff Park after it was presented to the people of Dunfermline by Andrew Carnegie. Not just relevant to Dunfermline, these ideas for open air 'living museum' constructions, craft workshops, function rooms as well as more traditional museum displays never came to full fruition, but foresee the type of historic attractions widespread in later years and today. *''City development :a study of parks, gardens and culture-institutes.'' Geddes & Co., 1904.
