Kellogg Durland was an American journalist and social reformer. Author of 'Among the Fife miners', he disguised himself and spent 4 months underground as a collier in Kelty. It was a dangerous experiment, he experienced first hand the hardships, overcrowding and toil undertaken by the workers.
