Falkland has been a town for a long time and over the years a great many people have contributed to the life of the community. Some have been born there, some just visiting and all have come for different reasons and from different backgrounds. In this book the Falkland Society have chosen an individual or type of person to represent each letter of the alphabet and explore this interesting aspect of the history of the town. Clipped to the indide of the book are two leaflets and a newspaper clipping, the first leaflet, ''The Most Royal of Burghs'' gives the Royal history of Falkland. The second leaflet 'Falkland : Royal Palace and Royal Burgh' describes the cover of a guidebook with this title giving the history of the images used, these include the Provost's lamp and the Provost's chain. The newspaper clipping has the title 'Take the High Road' and is a hand drawn map showing a route from Falkland into the Lomond hills.
