Scottish Local History journal is produced three times a year and the publisher is the Scottish Local History Forum. This issue contains an article called "Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy 2005" by Elizabeth East. The article briefly explains the background to the medal and that every two years it is awarded to individuals who have dedicated their private wealth to public good. The Carnegie Philanthropy Medal of events 2005 were opened on 3rd October in the Glen Pavillion and went on to tour Carnegie Birthplace Museum, and the Abbey and open the dedicated site for the headquarters of the Carnegie Trust.
