A biography of the life of David Cumming Shand by his Uncle Mr J Wilson of Lochgelly. Being one of nine children his father died at an early age his Mother had a struggle bring up the children on her own. Give information about his army career along with some of his family members. Corporal David Cumming Shand, 1605, served with 2nd Battalion, Black Watch and died on the 2nd January 1916 aged 25. Enclosed are a series of letters One to Mr Wilson from Commonwealth War Graves Commission, another to Mrs Hudson by Mr J Wilson, Letter to Mr Cameron regarding Mr Shand, Photographs of Fife men serving with the Black Watch in South Africa in the 1900 taken from "The Kirkcaldy and District War Album", A photograph of David Cumming Shand taken in 1913 in his army uniform.
