Dingwall, George1951
Books, Manuscripts
This short book is promoted as being by the 'Author of "The Vicinity of Largo Bay"' and contains photographs of this area. It looks at the life of Alexander Selkirk (born Alexander Selcraig), who was born in Largo in1676 and is described here as 'a man who lived a full life in an adventurous age, and reckoned nothing of consequence'. Selkirk's life is believed to have inspired Daniel Defoe to write 'The Life and Adventures of Robinson Crusoe' in 1719, two years before Selkirk died.
