An article in the magazine "On two wheels" about the story of the famous motor company. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company was that it remained a family concern and did not become a public company until 1865, not until that point that there had always been Harleys and Davidsons of one generation or another directing its destiny. The start of the company dates by to 1901 at which time William Harley was a draughtsman and Arthur Davidson a pattern-maker.They first set up business in a 10 x 15ft shed painted the name Harley-Davidson on to the door in bold letters and launched themselves full-time into the motorcycle business. Gives information about the various models of motor cycles made along with some illustrations.
