A speech concerning the reponing of the Reverend Mr Gillespie,1753

1753
Books, Manuscripts
The speech concerns the reinstating of the Reverend Gillespie. In September 1741 Reverend Gillespie was admitted as minister of the parish of Carnock, Fife. The presbytery of Dunfermline agreed to sustain as valid the ordination he had received in England, and to allow a qualification of his subscription to the church's doctrinal symbol, so far as it had reference to the sphere of the civil magistrate in matters of religion. Mr Gillespie was born in 1708 and died in 1774.
