Spiral bound photocopy of the original-still in use(1999) and peridically updated. Ledger entries by date of ships docked, for what purpose, and date of undocking with accompanying signatures of personnel concerned. Black and white photographs of HMS Zealandia-in dock 1916. From frontispiece:The ravages of use over seventy years were becoming quite apparent and it was decided to place the Docking Book-like many of its illustrious entries- for 'refit' in August 1994. During this refurbishment the covers were replaced and inscribed with gold lettering, the pages were rebound and the book made fit for continued service well into the next century. The survival of the book is considered important because it preserves a historic document recording not only the docking activities of many warships, some of which are famous names, but it also marks the special skills of a long and distinguished line of Dockmasters who have unique responsibilities.''
