A young man steps off the bus in Falkland. He has already seen much of the world but hasn't yet found a firm footing in life. In Scotland he feels at home immediately. There they accept him for what he is. It's 1954 when Sven Huldt arrives in the little Scottish village of Falkland. There he finds a way of life that suits him. He quickly makes friends with his landlady Mrs Finlay, 19th century survival Willie Drysdale and ski-ing enthusiast Mr Anderson. My Scotland in the Fifties is an autobiogrpahy, bu it is also a tale of people who make room in their lives for generosity and originality.
