A history of the Fife Coal Company with a statistical record of the contributions made to the coal output of the county made by the company. With sections covering the earliest coal workings in Kelty and Culross, the beginnings of the Fife Coal Company and a look at individual parishes and collieries. There is a section on the Directors of the company past and present with photographs of Mr Charles Carlow, Mr Thomas Aitken of Nivingston and the Provost William Lindsay of Leith. There are photographs of various collieries throughout the book and a plan showing the positions of the Fife Coal Coys Pits, a plan of the Burntisland Harbour & Docks and a plan of Methil Docks.
