Kirkcaldy Tramways 1903

1903
Books, Manuscripts
Tramway cars commenced running in Kirkcaldy on the last Saturday of February 1903 and brought both electric light and cheap travel to a developing town. However, trams only ran until May 1931 mainly due to unrestrained bus competition. This album contains 16 black and white photographs charting the history of Kirkcaldy Tramways. The first shows the laying of tram tracks followed by photographs of tram routes, operational equipment and machinery to photographs of the workforce and those attending the opening ceremony.
