The memoirs begin with Michael of Methil and Wemyss, the first proved ancestor of the Wemyss Family, c.1165-c.1214 and finishes with Randolph Gordon Erskine Wemyss of Wemyss, Lady Mary Paulet (Winchester), his wife, succeeded 1864.
