Believing that the story of the monastery is largely determined by the men who were in charge of it, Rev. Webster has reconstructed the domestic life of the Abbey with a scrupulous attention to historical accuracy - the abbots, the monks and the ministers live again in these pages. He writes too of the Grammar School and the Sang Scule, both of which played an important part in the life of the community which had grown up around the Abbey.
