Pitfirrane House and its policies : a history (of almost 600 years) of the house and grounds which is now the home of Dunfermline Golf Club

Dewar, Ian G.1997
Books, Manuscripts
This book relates the history of the lands of Pitfirrane and their owners from first mention in an early 13th century document. This history is interwoven with that of Dunfermline Golf Club: for example, it was a Pitfirrane Halkett, Elizabeth (who married Sir Henry Wardlaw), who published a ballad in 1719 called Hardyknute – and a Dunfermline Golf Club course scorecard from 1997 shows that the 8th hole was named Hardiknute. Included in the book are many photographs of the interior and exterior of Pitfirrane House.
