This book was originally printed for private circulation among a few close friends of Andrew Carnegie. It was only after the publication of the First Edition that he was persuaded that it would also be appreciated by a larger audience. The volume is a record of a journey from Brighton to Inverness travelling by coach with a party of Carnegie's closest friends.
