Biography of Jacob Primmer, Church of Scotland minister who served Townhill Church, Fife. It was compiled and edited by his son, who wrote the foreword, which is signed off as having been written at Struan Bank, Cowdenbeath in 1915. The book contains photographs of Townhill Church and Rev Primmer's manse at Kingseathill. The book contains many anecdotes, such as a conversation recorded on p58 with coalmaster's wife Mrs Stevenson who tried to have Rev Primmer 'promise never to speak on Popery or politics... I am always in terror in church as to what is to come next.'
