The story of the Thorn Tree in the Abbey grounds is the starting point of this publication. It is also the basis of the burial register which has recorded some of the burying places from where the Thorn Tree stands. The Thorn tree has a tradition that the mother of William Wallace was buried in the old church yard on the spot where the present Thorn tree is growing. The publication goes on to list by year from 1761-1857 and 1866-1867 the sites and puchasers of burial plots, as well as the occupations and residence of the purchasers and deceased. There is an index at the rear which is alphabetically listed and with page numbers. NB Since this is a listing of burial plot purchases, it may not give answers to people looking for their ancestors' burial dates and graves.
