This book is by Andrew Shearer, OBE, former Town Clerk of Dunfermline. The excerpts printed in this publication are selected parts of the whole Minutes. Much has been omitted as repetitive or insignificant. The contents have been copied from the original manuscript records and spelling is unchanged (eg. for 13 October 1573: 'Gilbert Kennadye chosen bailzie be the craftis for ane zeir'). The extracts cover the years 1573-1680.
