The 'tenandry' of the first article refers to the ancient one of Crosshills in the parish of Auchtermuchty. The work was originally serialised in the Fife Herald and its sister papers in January and February of 1892 and although further articles were promised the series was never completed. The second article was originally published by the author for family and friends under the title 'Genealogical history of the Wisharts and Piiarrow and Logie Wishart' in 1914. It seems only a few copies were published and the book is now exceedingly rare.
