From the Editorial - 'To our readers - we cannot send this programme and newsapaper abroad without a few words of explanation. One glace at a railway bookstall, or the newspaper department of a bookseller's shop, and you are amazed at the sight of comic papers exposed for sale. They are unlimited in number. Be present when the packages arrive containing the publications, and you wonder still more at the ready and enormous sale to old and young alike. Are you suprised, then, that we should attempt to produce something of the sort, to make little profit for the Building fund? We have done our best to be funny. We have not slandered, but we have used the names of friends to aid in the fun. We feel sure they wont mind.' The editorial ends: 'We ask all to bear in mind that:- The life of man is but vapour, So is the brief life of this paper; Born to-day in the Beveridge Hall, It dies tomorrow, aged two days all; And if it has fulfilled its task, We give you thanks; and might we ask, Your loyal support for our New Mission? To clear its debt is our ambition.'
