Mainly covering communion service practices in Dunfermline during the seventeenth century, this lecture also covers other church matters. These include promises made by Charles I from Carisbrooke Castle to commissioners sent from the Scottish Pariament and what the consequences were. In addition, interesting social commentary is provided by an appendix, 'Minutes relating to the communion and catechising extracted from the first extant volume of the registers of the acts of the Kirk Session of Dunfermline........1st December 1639 to 22nd October 1662.'
