This is written as a family history of the Pitcairns of Fife but also provides the historical context for the events in the family's story and so has equal value to those interested in the history of the Kingdom. The Pitcairns lived in Fife from 1250 to 1809 and had many associations with other local families of note. The book is lavishly illustrated with portraits, photographs, drawings and engravings. There are many genealogical tables: the largest concerns the Pitcairns of Pitcairn, Forthar and Innernethy, is attached to the back boards and measures approx. 60 x 70 cm.
