For over forty years the life of John Drysdale of Kilrie, Fife was virtually the history of cane farming on the Burdekin Delta of North Queensland, and also of the two companies he directed:Drysdale Brothers & Co. started by his brother George in 1883 and Pioneer Sugar Mills Ltd. formed in 1914.
