This three volume set describes 287 manuscripts produced between the 11th century and 1913. All the items in the catalogue are held in the National Art Library at the V&A. This collection includes the George Reid Collection given to the museum in 1902-1903. The George Reid Collection consists mainly of western manuscripts dating from before 1500. George Reid was invloved in the Dunfermline textiel industry and donated a large collection of to the Dunfermline Museum & Archaeological Society which were later placed in Pittencrieff House. He aslo donated four manuscripts the the Dunfermline Public Library.
