St. Ninian's News

St. Ninian's Parish Church
Books, Manuscripts
Two issues of the newsletter produced by St. Ninian's Parish Church. The first dates from the first quarter of 1966, following the February opening of the first permanent church. Mention is made of the many congratulations and good wishes received by the minister, Rev. Beck, for the new church and its congregation. The newsletter records the sending of food parcels to the Mission hospital in Jalna, India, lists new church members and those who have left for pastures new, also recent births, marriages and deaths. Reports from the various groups run from the church and the accounts are included. Model church collection boxes were proving useful in supplementing the building fund. The second newsletter dates from the second quarter of 1980. It reveals that new minister, Rev. Charles Cameron's arrival had coincided with a serious roof leak, requiring an urgent, expensive repair. Like the first issue, there are lists of new church members and those who have left for pastures new, also recent births, marriages and deaths. Reports from the various groups indicate a thriving church. Both newsletters have a pen and ink drawing of the building on the front cover.
