The Advisory Town Plan was approved in priniciple by Dunfermline Town Council in 1946 as a guide for the eventual preparation of the first statutory development plan under the Town and Country Planing (Scotland) Act 1947. The advisory plan is a framework of ideas and suggestions for the improvement of Dunfermline and it communications. Any part of the plan can become operative at any time, as the Town Council may decide, and its projects extend for some distance towards the future. Includes detailed fold out map
