Voices of Yesterday : being sermons preached by nine Parish Ministers in the Carse of Gowrie

1901
Books, Manuscripts
'This book is a collection of sermons preached in the regular course of their duty by ministers whose parishes compose the Carse of Gowrie in Perthshire, or border it on the Braes of teh Carse. It is of interest as a memorial of local ministerial usefulness. It is a record of the kind of work done under the Church of Scotland during the latter half of the last century, in what may be considered a representative country district. The short notes on the lives of the various Parish Ministers have been compiled from the files of newspapers, the Presbytery Records, tombstones and tablets, the statements of relatives and friends, and the personal impressions of the editor.' - taken from the Preface.
