Phillips, Philip
Books, Manuscripts
The volume illustrates the stages of consruction of the Forth Rail Bridge, with further engineering detail given for each plate. Each photograph has the date when it was taken. The second part of the book compares the Forth Bridge with other notable bridges from around the world, again illustrated with black and white photographs, this also includes a section on the Old Tay Rail Bridge and the New Tay Rail Bridge. This volume is a joy to view, the detail of the images alone make this well worth pausing to read. Anyone with an interest in civil engineering or in history will enjoy looking through this book.
