The Aim and the End : being lectures and addresses delivered

Irvine, James Colquhoun, Sir, 1877-1952
Books, Manuscripts
The author had many demands made upon him as a lecturer by a world-wide multitude of societies. This book contains lectures on his appreciations of his teachers, his views on teaching and research in general, and on chemistry in particular. Also included is his inaugural address delivered as Principal of St. Andrews University in 1921 and his Dow lecture 'St. Andrews in transition' delivered in September 1950. The addresses are presented in the chronological sequence of their delivery.
