It seems certain that Columba preached among the southern Picts and while on an ecclesiastical journey he founded a church at or near St. Andrews then called Kilrimont, the Church-of-the-Royal-Mount. It was probably while working in this district that Columba founded his church on the island in the Forth, the Island of Columba, or Inchcolm.
