A book in two parts, part 1 being a biography of the subject and part 2, his poems and translations. George Buchanan was a native of Lennox who spent most of his life in other countries. It was in France, Portugal and Italy that he won the reputation as the champion of education and the first poet of his age. It was at St. Andrews University that he gained the degree of Bachelor.
