The first part of this volume contains an register of voters for Fife. It is divided by District - Cupar, St. Andrews, Kirkcaldy, Auchtermuchty, Elie and Dunfermline and then by Parish. Each persons entry gives their name, occupation and whether they are a home owner or tenant. The second part details a contested election result. The candidates in the election were Mr. Fergus standing for the Liberal party and Mr Balfour who was associated with Conservatism but it was felt that his expression of Liberal principles was what lead to such a close election result. Details are given about the lead up to the election, the election proceedings and the result.
