An exploration of the character of the Scottish people, their habits and customs. The author examines everyone from the Scottish Clergy and Lawyers to Royalty and Eccentric characters. Charels Rogers was the son of Dunino Minister James Rogers and was born at the manse there in 1825. He attended the Dunino parish school and later studied at the univeristy of St. Andrews. Having gained a liscence to the Prebytery in Fife, he served as an assistant at several of the parishes in Fife. He went on to become the Chaplain of the garrison at Stirling.
