Rev. Thomas Chalmers was born in Anstruther in 1780 and educated at St. Andrews University. He went on to lecture in mathematics along with becoming the Minister at Kilmany in Fife. He had a varied career in the Church as well as in academia, taking up a post at St. Andrews University as chair of Moral Philosophy. This is a volume on the topic of Natural Theology which provides arguments for the existence of God based on reason and ordinary experience of nature and represents just one of his areas of interest.
