Taken from the introduction: 'David Ferguson Hunter was a miner who was born in Kingseat, Fife and who lived for most of his life in Dunfermline. He volunteered for Army service in 1914, just five weeks after the start of World War One. In September 1918, Corporal hunter and six men from the 1/5th Battalion (City of Glasgow) Highland Light Infantry were involved in an action just north of the French village of Moeuvres which led to Corporal hunter's being awarded the Victoria Cross and to his being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. This paper tells something of Hunter's life and the story of ''The Seven Heroes of Moeuvres''.
