Named after Timothy Pont ,1565–1614 he was a Scottish cartographer and topographer, the first to produce a detailed map of Scotland. This edition includes an article about his maps on Kinross Abbey, Scone Abbey and Fean Abbey. Many of Ponts manuscript maps survived and are held in the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh. An article about Robert Pont the father of Timothy Pont who was born near Culross and Studied Philosophy at St Andrews University. He had various roles within the church these include In 1562 he was appointed minister at Dunblane and then at Dunkeld; in 1563, Commissioner for Moray, Inverness and Banff. Then in succession he became minister of Birnie (1567), provost of Trinity College near Edinburgh (1571), a lord of session (1572), minister of St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh (1573) and at St. Andrews (1581). Theres is also tribute to Professor Robin Adam, 1924-1999 a most enthusiastic and dedicated participant who was a professor of Medieval History at St Andrews.
