The Society of St. Margaret was founded by Sir Alexander Moncrieff, K.C.B., Mr George Seton, Advocate in Law, and Reverend A.T. Grant of Leven, in 1895. The purpose of which was to celebrate the descendants of the Saintly line of the Queen of Malcolm Canmore, to study and if possible elucidate the early history of the family line, and to commemorate the influence that their illustrious ancestress had on Scotland. This document states the 12 rules which had to be satisfied to become and remain a member of The Society.
