Statement in reference to the improvement of the Fife and Mid-Lothian Ferry and the precautions necessary to be taken before fixing the site of the proposed low-water pier on the north shore of the Forth

Books, Manuscripts
This book presents valid reasons for improving the ferry service between Fife and Midlothian and creating a low-water pier on the eastern part of the north shore. It was predicted that these developments would aid communications to the north-east of Scotland, especially for Royal Mail services, also make a safe location for disembarking in Fife, free from the hazards of unpredictable weather conditions. Advantages and disadvantages of selecting Kinghorn, Burntisland and Kirkcaldy as possible sites were put forward.
