Old Weavers' Drives

Dunfermline High School-History department
Books, Manuscripts
The "Auld Weavers' Drive", was one of the ways that Dunfermline showed it's respect to the handful of handloom weavers who continued to ply their trade after the introduction of power looms. This annual 'treat' was enjoyed by all the old men in their 60's, 70's and 80's and a good day had by all, including the odd nip and fine cigar. This essay relates dates, destinations etc.
