In 1798 the members of the Incorporation of Wrights, Mason, &c in Kirkcaldy decided to convert their organisation into a Benefit Society. This document lays out the laws and regulations of that society, the main focus on how the nefits would be dispersed to their members and the management of the fund. Following the printed regulations is a handwritten set of pages with the names / signatures of the members, included is their profession, date of entry to the society and in some cases the date of demission with the reason for their leaving. A single typed sheet contained at the back of the book, is a duplicate of the handwritten section, making it easier for the reader to understand the contents.
