A gamekeeping family history. With chapters dedicated to each of the gamekeepers in the Grass family. Chapter one is dedicated to James Grass (1803-1887) of Balcaskie in Fife. James Grass worked as the headkeeper at Balcaskie House near Carnbee, at that time this was to Sir Ralph Anstruther. When James Grass died in 1887 his youngest son James Grass Jnr succeeded to headkeeper, where he remained until his death in 1922.
