Robert Moffat was born on 21 December 1795 at Ormiston, East Lothian, Scotland and died on 9 August 1883. aged 87. He was was a Scottish Congregationalist missionary to Africa, father-in-law of David Livingstone, and first translator of the Bible into Setswana. This booklet written by his daughter Jane G Moffat gives a biography of Robert Moffat's life and account of his work at various parts of Africa when he was a missionary. The front cover has a pencill sketch of Robert Moffat.
