The notices in this book connect themselves with the three most important and prominent periods in our history. The first of these is the glorious reformation from popery, when Prostestantism was established in 1560. The second was the important era of 1638, known as the second Reformation when Presbyterianism was fully developed. The third refers to the 28 years of suffering, known as the Killing Times, which preceded the memorable Revolution of 1688
