Books, Manuscripts
This item outlines what is known about Fife Cultural Trust's two seamless shirts, rare survivals from the eighteenth and nineteeenth centuries which speak of Dunfermline's history as a centre of linen weaving. Details are given about how these shirts were conserved and prepared for display (one at a time) in Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries. The Textile Society Museum, Archive and Conservation Award 2015 contributed towards conservation costs. The paper ends with photographs of the seamless shirts.
